Having already seen the band play twice this year (Madrid, Spain in October and Los Angeles California in July), tonight’s gig was another unique performance by the band, with an evolving setlist (which included ‘What If?’ and ‘Don’t Panic’), it was also a different experience for me seeing them play a large arena in their homeland (I saw them play Liverpool and Newcastle last year, but those were small, intimate venues). It was also a great vantage point for this show, being in the general admission standing area very close to the stage.
As introduced in Madrid, this show featured the new light-up bracelets for attendees, though the design has improved and now they lit up for three songs (‘Hurts Like Heaven’, ‘Charlie Brown’, and ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’) instead of just one.
It is late here in the UK (almost 4 am) and much on the agenda for tomorrow, so below are some photos from the event – the second of two videos to be uploaded within the next few days (slow WiFi at the hotel):
